If you entered the Peter B. Lewis Building this past Saturday, Nov. 1, you were transported to a Halloweentown. Scarecrows, spiderwebs and themed orange and black decor adorned the hallways and rooms for the annual Weatherheadless Halloween Ball. The food provided was delicious and everyone enjoyed the drink selections. The evening progressed with great music, good friends and many many great costumes!
Around 9:30 the crowd split to create a wide walkway for the costume contest. Pirate couples, Orange is the New Black, chocolate milk, and a spartan are just a few of the characters that jammed down the walkway to impress the judges. The number one costumed couple of the night was a Mary Poppins and Bert couple, who took home a brand new 32” LG LED Flat Screen television! Other prizes given out through the contest and raffle included an iPad Mini, iPad Touch, HP Laptop, Beats by Dre Headphones, and Beats by Dre Pill Speakers.
My personal favorite costumes of the night included Mary Poppins and Bert, Legolas and Tauriel, a bottle of mustard, and the protagonists of The Princess Bride. Overall I thought it was a great turnout. Everyone there was in a great Halloween spirit. The ball was followed by an afterparty at The Jolly Scholar. I cannot wait to attend again next year!
